Avraham teperberg (1ˢᵗ generation) immigrates to jerusalem in the late 19ᵗʰ century, after mastering wine making in austria. He settles inside the walls of the old city and establishes the teperberg winery.
Legacy petite sirah is a product of meticulous vineyard care, cultivation and high-quality yields. The grapes were grown in a vineyard site located in the ayalon valley that highlights the characteristic virtues of the variety. The wine fermented naturally as a result of the yeast living on the grapes in the vineyard and in the winery. The wine, which aged for 18 months in oak barrels, has a soft texture and rich flavors. The wine has a dark, intense red color and is filled with well-balanced flavors of cherries, raspberries and the aromas of toasted oak.
This is a deep and powerful red wine with a dynamic presence. It’s characterized by an aromatic balance between dark fruit and ripe cherries with hints of coffee, tobacco and rich oak. On the palate the wine has austere yet soft tannins with full body and a long harmonious finish.
Serving suggestion. Best serves with braised meat in a rich sauce.
